It might look like a gate to hell opened up in some poor fuck's basement, but this is water damage, which is going to end up costing someone just a little bit more than their soul.

Most of the water damage I see is caused by basement flooding or water seeping in through the foundation. In this case, the kitchen sink has a leaky pipe and the water did what water does best: fucked some shit up.

Notice the gaping hole in the ceiling above the window, and how the ceiling tile has crumbled onto the floor below. All of that gray, brown, and black stuff around the window is mold. There are some especially tasty patches in the bottom right area. The carpet is completely soaked and there is probably a new carpet (of mold) growing underneath it. The moisture from this one leak was so bad, there are splotches of mold all over the basement.

Remember, mother fuckers: take care of your house or your house will take care of you (and by 'take care of you,' I mean fuck you straight up the ass).
